Welcome to the website of ARQULUK, a northern engineering research program.
This program is supervised by Guy Doré, titular professor in the Department of Civil Engineering of the Science and Engineering Faculty at Laval University, and NSERC Industrial Research Chairholder in Heavy Load, Climate and Pavement Interaction (i3C).
Arquluk was created in April 2012, shortly after being granted a research and cooperative development subsidy by NSERC. Furthermore, the program could be launched thanks to the contribution of 12 partners, including both governmental organisms and private companies, who are operating in the fields of engineering, transport and climate change.
The program tends to develop technical solutions to problems regarding the behavior of transportation infrastructure built on instable permafrost. In Inuktitut language, “Arquluk” means “Bumpy road”.
